Activity Description

The President Elect site is a great site to help your students learn about the electoral college. The "FAQ" page would be a good place to start, as these may represent most of your students' questions about the electoral college and how it works. The site is per election year so check for current election.

  1. Make sure the site is not blocked at your school.
  2. Visit the site, checking out the various features.
  3. Download and print copies of Example Document: Table of Election Information (above), or send it to students digitally.


  1. Discuss the upcoming election, or past elections.
  2. Discuss the electoral college.
  3. Bring up the site and type in the year.
  4. Discuss election results.
  5. Have students fill out the Example Document: Table of Election Information.
  6. Discuss their findings.

  • The site has some advertising, so teach students how to avoid it.
